I think this was my favorite space we saw a few w I think this was my favorite space we saw a few weeks ago. It’s the one that keeps coming back to my mind over and over. The hand painted mural was so beautifully done and the chandelier had me as soon as your round the corner into the open living/kitchen/dining. Surely this space will stand the test of time. Since Ben and I have meetings with clients that require looking at large sets of plans and often 4-6 people, offices for us consist of tables, not desks. Large workspaces are an essential for us. That’s part of why this office is so perfect! The other part being the amazing design. The doors in the home were so incredible, including these ones. The flooring. Cabinetry. Furnishings. Here are 5 things we make sure to include when des Here are 5 things we make sure to include when designing the perfect pantry: 1– Sturdy shelving that can hold a lot of weight. This seems like an obvious one but it is also the most important. We like to put extra backing in during the framing stages to make sure the design has the support it needs. 2– Correct Shelving Heights and Widths. We like to see the types of food items our clients are currently storing in their home so that we ensure their new custom home really is custom to them. There is no need to guess and then hope it works out! We want to make it easy to organize, and easy to keep those organization systems up. 3– Light Ensuring there is plenty of light so all items will be illuminated is an easy way to make sure nothing gets forgotten in those shadows. 4– Color In spaces, like this one, that has a ton of shelving for storage, we like to keep the color light. It helps light reflect into those storage shelves. Plus, if it’s a space where you aren’t decanting everything, it helps keep the mental overload down. Commercial packaging and labels AND dark shelving isn’t a great combo. 5– Flooring We opt for smooth flooring here because boxes are often pushed across it and catching a tile edge is no bueno! It’s hard to believe Easter is just around the c It’s hard to believe Easter is just around the corner but these tablescapes have me feeling ready for it! What are your Easter traditions? My parents are the King and Queen of easter hunts and basket hiding. It’s a strong family tradition that has brought so much joy— and tears — over the years. Tears come from a house with a little to no hint rule that has left us search for a very long time. And Ben’s mom has the table scape game down. We love seeing her collections come out at the holidays. We do baskets at our house and hunt for eggs that are filled with elements from Christ’s Resurrection. As we find them we discuss how each piece contributed to His sacrifice. Easter is the most important holiday of the year and one of my favorites. Ben could do without the baskets but is always game for a gathering with good food 🙂 and Jesus of course. Here are a few ways to increase the fun factor 1️⃣ Gather and Trust  a great team – Having a stellar team that is good at collaborating will help the whole process go so much smoother.  They will solve problems you didn’t know existed and prevent them before they become an issue.  2️⃣ Understand expectations – as a Design Build team, Ben and I are always trying to help our clients understand realistic expectations. This is may the 1st and only time you will build a home. There is a lot you have never experienced and we are here to help you understand the process and what to expect.  Unrealistic expectations are the root of frustration.  3️⃣ Celebrate the Process – Dont forget to celebrate all the stages!  Building a home is truly an amazing process!  Look at all that has happened and remember that your creating a home for the ones you love the most.  4️⃣ Plan Below you Budget – this is a hard one to do but creating a contingency for unexpected costs will help you stay relaxed and having a great time while building your forever home.  We don’t just think it’s possible to have fun while building a home, it’s a core value of what we do.
